Building Immunity the Ayurvedic Way: Giloy, Tulsi & Ashwagandha
Dr. Anita Kandwal 12 July 2026

In Ayurveda, immunity is called vyadhikshamatva — literally, the body’s capacity to forgive disease. The classical route to building it is Rasayana therapy.
Giloy — the root of immortality
Guduchi is the most prescribed immunomodulator in Ayurveda, traditionally used during recurring fevers and seasonal changes.
Tulsi — the respiratory guardian
Holy basil supports the upper respiratory tract and helps the body clear excess kapha during humid and cold seasons.
Ashwagandha — the stress shield
Chronic stress suppresses immunity more than most people realise. Ashwagandha is a classical adaptogen that helps regulate the stress response and improves sleep depth.
How to take them
Consistency matters more than dosage. A standardised daily blend taken after meals for three months delivers far better results than occasional high doses.
